Each week we are asking our congregation to be in prayer for one of our supported missionaries or local mission agency. This week we ask that we each bring Batavia Food Pantry to God in prayer. This not-for-profit, volunteer agency is operated by local church volunteers to help our neighbors and friends – people with disabilities, seniors, low income families, and families whose member(s) have lost their jobs. Clients/families who have been certified may use the Pantry once a month at a variety of times during the week. The Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry has been open for over 30 years. It is currently serving over 350 families each month and would not be possible without the active support of community volunteers and donors who so selflessly give their time, effort and money. Youth Ministries will be holding a bake sale on Sunday, October 27th after the Worship Service downstairs in the Fellowship Hall. This Bake Sale is to support this summer’s Mission Trip for our high school students. All money raised will help decrease the cost of this trip for our students and leaders. Make sure to stop by and purchase some delicious fall-themed treats and desserts!
Next Saturday, October 19th, we will be introducing a new Men’s ministry for the first time at Apple Villa Restaurant, 1961 W. Wilson St, Batavia, from 7:30 am – 9:00 am. There will be some fellowship, food and much discussion around what the men of our church (and community) may need toward spiritual growth and discipleship. Breakfast is optional and on your own. Trunk or Treat is Saturday, October 26th from 4:00 – 6:00 pm! If you would like to donate candy, we’ll have bowls out for donations through Sunday, October 20th. If you would enjoy decorating your trunk, handing out popcorn and cider, helping children decorate small pumpkins or running games, please contact Becky Chin at email@example.com. October 23rd is the deadline for orders of Butter Braid coffee cakes for the preschool annual fundraiser. There are order forms still available if you are interested in supporting our preschool. Butter Braids will be available for pickup on November 10. All proceeds from this fundraiser are designated for our Scholarship Fund & to save toward new tile flooring in two classrooms.
