Abiding In Christ

Practice 1: Low Planks/Deep Heart Work

Desire

1

To reflect on the character of Christ Jesus and the fruit of the Spirit, and consider areas of our lives that could more fully imitate the heart of Jesus.

Definition

2

Low planks are parts of our lives that are not fully imitating the heart of Jesus.

Scripture

3

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.  Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passion and desires.”  (Galatians 5:22-24)

“For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.” (Romans 8:29)

“Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me -  put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” (Philippians 4:9)

“‘Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.’" (Matthew 7:24)
