On April 25, we are looking for volunteers from our church to work for the day doing a variety of tasks such as serving in a food pantry, sorting donations for a restore, working in a soup kitchen and/or engaging with a nearby homeless encampment. The activity chosen will depend on our group interest and size. Go to bit.ly/JPUSA-BCC to register or talk to Sarah Schmitz (sarah17schmitz@gmail.com) for more information. All ages are welcome!

Taize Worship Night
We will be having a Taizé worship night on Wednesday, March 18th, at 7pm.This will be a time to meditate on God's Word, rest in his presence, call out to him, and sit in silence, desiring to hear from him. Taizé worship songs are repetitive, allowing the truths to sink into our hearts and giving us space to pray and meditate. We will light candles and bring them forward to symbolize the prayer or person that we were lifting to the Lord, seeking his light.
Ash Wednesday
Our Ash Wednesday service is on February 18 at 7pm. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a time of prayer, fasting, and repentance. It is a time to remember our mortality and turn back to God, "for dust you are and to dust you will return” (Genesis 3:19b, NIV).
Immigration Book Discussion
Please join us on Wednesday, February 11 at 7pm to discuss this relevant topic of immigration and how it relates to the church. This is a follow-up from our evening with author and activist Matthew Soerens from World Relief, and reading the book "Welcoming the Stranger." All our invited to attend, whether you have read the book or not!

Blue Christmas
Blue Christmas is an opportunity to lament during this season that is difficult for many of us. Join us for a service where we can cry out to the Lord and rest in His presence.
Community Dinner - Volunteer Opportunity
Every Christmas season, our church reaches out to our community in the name of Jesus. In recent years, we’ve helped to host Songs and Lights with the BMA. This year, we are taking a different approach by hosting a free Community Christmas Meal for our neighbors. Our goal is to provide a nice meal with dignity and care to those in need of food or community. Contact the church office if you would like to volunteer.
Advent Fireside Bible Study: The Unexpected
God Gives His best gifts to us in unexpected ways. The Christmas season is a reminder of the gift that God gives to us through his son Jesus. The prophet Micah gives Israel hope while they are under the threat of violence and oppression, sharing God’s promise that from the insignificant and inconsequential town of Bethlehem will come the world’s greatest blessing, who is Christ the Lord. When the Messiah, the Lord Jesus, comes, his greatness will span the entire world. The unexpected is what God does best.
Welcoming the Stranger
Join us for a kickoff to our next church book study, Welcoming the Stranger, and meet one of the authors! On November 12 at 7:00pm in the Fellowship Hall Matthew Soerens, VP of Policy and Advocacy at World Relief, will share his perspective on the immigration debate as well as address barriers keeping us from taking our next steps in the work of welcoming the strangers. RSVP to bccworldrelief@gmail.com and plan to purchase your book for $10. The study begins in January 2026.

All-Church Retreat: On Saturday, November 1, accept Jesus' invitation to "come away" by joining us on a one-day all-church retreat at Fox Valley Christian Action in St. Charles. We'll be engaging the theme "One in Christ, Many in Joy." The opening session begins at 10am and the closing session ends at 3:30. Optionally, you can arrive early (9am) and/or stay late (6pm). Women's Thursday Night Bible Study: Forgotten God
What if the thing our churches are missing isn’t a something, but a Someone? Francis Chan’s Forgotten God seeks to reverse our neglect of the Holy Spirit by exposing the enormous gap between what Scripture says about the Spirit and how most believers and churches operate today.
Through solid scriptural support and compelling narrative, Chan reveals the Holy Spirit as the Bible describes Him. His goal isn’t merely to educate readers, it’s to infuse reader’s lives with the presence of the Holy Spirit in profound ways.

Sunday Morning Bible Study: Lamentations (Copy)
What do we do when life goes very wrong? The biblical answer is that we start by turning to God and sharing our distress and pain with him. But when was the last time you lamented to God? In our culture, we are averse to engaging with sin and death, suffering and sorrow, so we really don’t understand how to apply the book of Lamentations to our lives.
This study will help us learn to lament and hear from God’s heart. In a busy world where grief is often ignored, this study invites us into the house of mourning and helps us gain a heart of wisdom for when hard times come.
The Gospel-Centered Life Bible series helps us examine how the gospel story is revealed through both the Old and New Testaments.
